Continuing Students Scholarships
College of Engineering Scholarship Program (for currently enrolled students only)
The scholarships described below are available to continuing engineering students on a competitive basis. The application deadline for all scholarships is February 1. Please review the description of each scholarship and apply only to those for which you are qualified. New freshmen and transfer students should complete the application forms for scholarships designated only for new students and transfer students, respectively. If you have a continuing scholarship from the College of Engineering, do not apply for another scholarship.

Scholarship Details
Aisin Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship for an Industrial Technology or Mechanical Engineering major and willing to do an internship at AISIN. Overall GPA, professional goals, interest in a career in auto parts manufacturing, financial need, and desire to live and work in southern Illinois considered in selection.
Boeing Company Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to sophomore or higher women in Electrical or Computer Engineering with at least 3.25 GPA. Interest in an aerospace career, academic performance, professional goals, and financial need considered in selection.ir
Caterpillar Excellence Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to sophomore or higher Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering majors interested in careers in heavy equipment, must be willing to do internship at Caterpillar, two scholarships must be for women, GPA of at least 2.80.
Clark Dietz Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide one scholarship per year for a junior or senior student of African American or Hispanic descent who is enrolled in civil (transportation, environmental, structural), mechanical, or electrical engineering. The amount of the scholarship is typically $2,500 per academic year, but may vary each year depending upon funds available and includes part time employment opportunities for the selected student during the school year and the summer.r
SIUC Tuition Award
The purpose of the tuition award is to provide financial assistance to students who have attained a high level of academic achievement. The awards are made only to students who are classified as full-time students majoring in one of the undergraduate degree programs offered in the College of Engineering. The amount of the award is typically $1,200, but will vary each year depending upon the funds available. The committee considerations include overall academic grade point average, total hours completed, total hours at SIUC, residency, and an assessment of financial need, and other academic achievements.
Dean’s Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship for a student enrolled in the College of Engineering. The award is made to a full-time student majoring in one of the undergraduate degree programs offered by the College of Engineering. The award is typically $1,000, but will vary depending upon the earnings of the endowment. The selection committee will consider academic achievements, extra-curricular activities, work experience, financial need, and professional goals.
Omron’s Electronics Inc. Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide annual scholarships for juniors and seniors majoring in Electrical Engineering. The awards are made to full-time junior and senior students. The amount of the award will vary each year depending upon the amount of funds available but is expected to be $1,300 per year. The selection committee will consider financial need, grade point average, and other academic achievements.
Donald and Verl Free Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to an undergraduate student majoring in Mechanical Engineering. The committee considerations include overall academic grade point average, interest in Mechanical Engineering and aeronautics, and other academic achievements. The amount of the award is typically $1,000, but will vary each year depending upon the earnings of the endowment.
Roffmann Engineering Scholarship
This scholarship is for a student majoring in one of the engineering programs. The selection committee will consider academic achievements, extra-curricular activities, work experience, financial need, and professional goals. The scholarship is typically $1,000, but may vary depending upon the earnings of the endowment.
Southern Illinois Power Co-Operative Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to an undergraduate Illinois native student majoring in Electrical Engineering. Southern Illinois Co-Operative is composed of the Egyptian Electric Cooperative (Steeleville), Southern Illinois Cooperative (Dongola), and Southeastern Illinois Electric Cooperative (Eldorado). The committee considerations include overall academic grade point average, financial need, and professional goals. Preference will be given to a student from a family who is a member of the cooperative and lives south of Highway I-64. The amount of the award is typically $1,200, but will vary each year depending upon the earnings of the endowment.
Highway District #9 Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships for tuition, fees, and books to undergraduate students majoring in Engineering. Recipients must be a sophomore, junior, or senior and a native of Highway District #9 (Alexander, Gallatin, Franklin, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, or Williamson). The committee considerations include overall academic grade point average, financial need, and effort toward providing for own education. Preference will be given to veterans or to sons or daughters of veterans. The amount of the award is typically $1,300, but will vary each year depending upon the earnings of the endowment
